Sorry Steve - Sat. Dec. 20th

Apparently I did not take our challenge very seriously because I have been a naughty girl. I think I have been suffering from a mild deep-ression. I won't put forward any excuses. Hope you did better.

So, 2 weeks ago I was 197. Today 198.4. A gain of 1.4!

Saturday Dec. 13th

197.4

Have not made progress this week.
I have been whirling around getting ready for Christmas.
I could have eaten better.
I have not been journaling my food.
But hey, if I am not gaining that is a good thing.
Once I am 'ready' for Christmas I will be more able to focus on this.

Wednesday Weight

197.2

Looks like my 196 the other day was premature. Soon enough though.

Monday Dec. 8th

Weight: 197.4

Damn you water and salt! :)

Sunday, December 7, 2008

Sunday Dec. 7th

Weight: 196.2

Very happy about that. Yesterday we took the kids to McD's after the daughter's dance recital. Usually on Saturdays I allow myself a free (for all) day and would have eaten there. However I have figured out in the past few weeks that that is not working. I am not eating restrictively enough on the other 6 days to warrant it (and was not losing). Therefore I only had a diet coke there and husband and I stopped on the way home to get subs for ourselves.

Right now I am enjoying the rapid loss that generally happens when you have been eating badly for a while. Woo hoo!

2 Week MaddMaddWorld Challenge

Start: Saturday Dec. 6th

Dear Steve,

197.0 to start. You have no excuse not to win. After all I have lost 3 pounds before any of them counted. If I lose another 3 in the next 2 weeks I'd be doing good.

GO!

My Weight Story

Pre 1990 - a pretty average sized girl. Not super skinny. Not 'overweight'. Paid no attention to eating, excercise or my weight. I could not even tell you what my weight was. Started university in 1990.

1995 - Age 23 - graduated university, got married - a little soft around the middle but not too much really, not excercising - probably weighed about 165 (guessing). Started running for fitness in the fall.

1997- Age 25 - pretty fit (running, had a physical job) - moved west - retrained in computers - weighed about 150

June 2000 - Age 28 - desk job - packed on the pounds to 210 - did WWs and quickly lost 40 pounds in about 5 months

Jan 2001 - started running and met my "running-friends" - 170 pounds

Nov 2003 - first child is 6 months old - running again - 180 pounds

May 2005 - had second baby - feet very sore - painful to walk - no excercising

June 2007 - 208 pounds - had not excercised in 3 years - Watched losetogain on Youtube and was inspired to rebuild myself

Oct 2007 - 188 pounds - started working with personal trainer - started running again

Jan. 2008 - 188 pounds, March 2008 - 184 pounds, Aug 2008 - 188 pounds, Sept 2008 - 192 pounds - weight creeping back on - not watching what I ate - excercising less

Dec 2008 - 200 pounds - time to stop what I am doing (overeating) and focus on becoming a healthier me! I must journal my food and restrict my calories in order to become fit. If I don't do this I will be a type 2 diabetic like both of my parents and probably have heart disease in 20 years like both of my parents. Losing 20% of my body weight will make me healthier and more able to run like I want to.
